Meet Lisa Roth

Creative Counseling & Coaching Professional

Dr. Lisa Roth has a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a emphasis in Depth Psychology as well as a Masters in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy. She holds a certificate for the Creative Arts through PCETI, the Person-Centered Expressive Therapy Institute, and was trained by Natalie Rogers. She has also been trained in Healing the Wounds of History by Drama Therapist, Armand Volkas.  She has over 25 years in the mental health field working at shelters, residential facilities, inpatient units, agencies, schools and community wellness programs. Lisa is also a visual artist, performer, playwright, director and poet.

Dr. Roth is a strength-based, person-centered, and psychodynamic psychotherapist who uses creative arts, narrative, and didactic approaches to help people connect and express what is most important to them. She views therapy as a gateway to strengthening the authentic self through healing, learning, acceptance, and growth. It is often through our self-proclaimed imperfections that we find the greatest gifts, insights, and points of focus that help us understand ourselves and the possibilities that are before us. We have all known suffering, loss, trauma, and despair. These experiences may shape us but they do not have to define us. She encourages getting support for doing this inner work in whatever form feels most appropriate and meaningful to you.

Currently, Dr. Roth has been working on a group facilitation training program for clinicians and non-clinicians alike combined with a manual entitled: 'Embodying Sanctuary: Facilitating Psychological Safe Spaces for the Creative Soul ' which aims to use the expressive arts as a container for individual and group processing, growth, connection and community building.

Dr. Roth encourages you to explore this site and welcomes any questions or queries you might have.
